▸ Teaching roles

Teaching Assistant

2021 – 2026

UC Irvine, Department of Physics & Astronomy

  • Teaching assistant for 11 undergraduate physics courses spanning the introductory and upper-division curriculum: leading discussion and laboratory sections, holding regular office hours, supervising laboratory work and safety, and grading.
  • Upper division: Electromagnetic Theory, Statistical Physics, and Advanced Laboratory.
  • Lower-division lecture: Classical Physics (calculus-based mechanics), Basic Physics for the life sciences, How Things Work (physics of modern technology, for non-majors), and an honors science seminar.
  • Instructional laboratories: Classical Physics Laboratory (mechanics; electricity & magnetism) and Basic Physics Laboratory.
  • Guided students through hands-on experiments, data analysis, and the treatment of measurement uncertainty; translated abstract theory into worked examples and physical intuition in discussion sections.

Group Tutor

2021

UC Berkeley, Department of Physics

  • Led group tutoring sessions for upper-division Quantum Mechanics, helping students work through problem sets and prepare for examinations.

On-site Mathematics Tutor

2018 – 2019

Orange Coast College, Student Success Center

  • Provided drop-in and scheduled tutoring in the community college mathematics sequence (through calculus) for a diverse, largely first-generation and returning-student population.

▸ Mentoring & outreach

  • Tutor, CAL-BRIDGE program, UC Irvine (2024): mentoring and academic support for undergraduates from underrepresented backgrounds pursuing physics and astronomy.
  • Delegate, UC Academic-Engagement Coalition (UAEC), Annual High-Energy Physics Advocacy Trip, Washington DC (Fermilab, 2025): science communication and advocacy with policymakers.
